Recycling at Western State Colorado University
The goal of the 3R's Committee (Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle) is to have less than 5 percent of recyclable items in our waste that goes to the landfill. Before putting anything into a trash bin, ask yourself, "Can I recycle this?"
WSC Recycling Guidelines
Acceptable Materials
- Office pack: white and colored papers; no neon or manilla folders.
These items may be included in the office indoor receptacles: (pickup Tuesday and Friday)
- Plastic #1 and #2 ONLY; please check number and empty contents
- Aluminum cans

Magazines and newspapers

Glass: clear, green and brown; please empty contents

Cardboard: flat or corrugated. Pizza delivery boxes are accepted. Waxed cardboard is not.

Electronic Recycling
Western State Colorado University offers electronic recycling for students, faculty and staff through Metech Recycling, which does not practice landfill dumping or third-world exporting. Read more about their practices here......
