Newman Club

The Newman Club is a group of students (Catholic and non-Catholic), interested in and dedicated to intellectual, spiritual, and character growth through service, study, and prayer in the Catholic tradition. The club's activities range from an annual Alternative Spring Break, in which students learn Catholic Social Teaching and gain hands-on experience in Social Justice, to small group meetings, in which students talk about and study issues pertinent to them, e.g. Bible Study, Philosophy, Art, Science, etc... The Newman Club is named for Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman who wrote the definitive work on the relation of Catholic Theology to the Liberal Arts, viz. The Idea of the University.

Students meet at St. John of the Cross Newman Center located at 600 E Georgia Ave, just south of Ute Hall.
